ERIC LANG TUTORING

Mr. Lang provided invaluable editing for our daughter’s college essays. He zeroed in on her strengths in her writing and asked her questions that helped her to dig deep and expand where she was already expressing herself. He also was honest and would point out if she was unknowingly taking her paper in an ineffective direction for college admissions purposes. Finally, he was kind, encouraging, and very responsive to her deadlines. We hired him to give feedback on a few college essays; but more than that, we gained someone who produced an even better writer in our daughter.

Mr. Lang taught me English during my junior year. Under his assistance, I'm very glad that I was able to get a 110 on the TOEFL and a 1510 on the SAT. Mr. Lang is an enthusiastic teacher and he always makes his lectures interesting. He was very good at figuring out my strengths and weaknesses and made a targeted plan as a solution. Also, he was a very patient and kind person. He guided me through every problem until I figured it out myself.

Mr. Lang made it easy for me to open up to him, and through working together he was able to truly understand me as a person. He possesses a mastery of language that helps you craft your best work and improve your writing. In all, he brings the best out of you academically. Even after my time with Mr. Lang, I continue to value the lessons I learned from him and will exercise them in college.

Mr. Lang was by far one of the best teachers I have had. He has a passion for literature and for his students that is made evident in the way he teaches. He wants to relate to students and not just cram their heads full of information, but he encourages them to understand the value of what they learn. In addition to this, Mr. Lang also makes his class entertaining and fun. As a result of being his student, I was completely prepared for college. I left his class with an appreciation for literature that I did not have before and now, out of high school and in my twenties, I still draw on what I learned from his class. He is a remarkable teacher and being his student was a privilege.

The way Mr. Lang gives constructive criticism inspires one to be better. He allows students to write in their own voice and craft a well polished essay. I was very fortunate to have Mr. Lang as my teacher and would argue he was one of the best teachers I had in high school.

Mr. Lang goes beyond the role of a teacher.  He truly cared about my education.  I have found that working with Mr. Lang benefits one not only in English, but also in life.  It was a joy learning from him.

Mr. Lang can significantly improve your SAT proficiency if you also do your part. I remember first being exposed to the digital SAT and scoring close to 600, but now I am happy to report that my score has risen over 100 points!
